Alesis

Alesis is a music technology company that produces electronic musical instruments and audio equipment, including keyboards, drum machines, MIDI controllers, speakers, and electronic drum kits. Established in 1980 by Keith Barr, Alesis played a pivotal role in the democratisation of music production with affordable, high-quality gear at a fraction of the prices generally seen in that era. Alesis has continually introduced groundbreaking products like the ADAT digital recorder, revolutionising professional studios and home recording environments. Following a tumultuous end to the millennium, Alesis was acquired by new owners in 2001, helping to re-establish the core focus that made the company so influential in the 80s and 90s.
