DaScratch®, a.k.a. the SCS.3d, is the latest innovation in the Stanton SC System control surface line. Revolutionary and compact, this controller is a necessity for any digital DJ looking for ultimate control over their software of choice.
DaScratch’s compact and sleek
profile makes it a space-friendly addition to any existing DJ gear
set-up or can stand on its own as a complete controller solution. What
makes this guy different from your average controller?
Stanton’s StanTouch® technology allows you to use traditional
DJ-style motions and gestures on a touch-pad style surface to take full
control over music and software applications such as Traktor DJ
Studio™, Traktor Scratch™, Ableton Live™, Serato Scratch Live™, or any
other MIDI compatible software. Minimal moving parts ensure durability
from gig to gig.
SCS.3d – Scratch to the Future by Andre Cato
Stanton have been redesigning their DJ gear in quite a spectacular fashion over the last few years and their latest digital DJ product, the SCS.3d is a space age controller, perfect for laptop DJs and software musicians.
Before we look at what it does have and what it does do, I want to tell you about its most amazing feature, something it doesn’t have! No physical faders, knobs or buttons. You see, the 3d is a touch sensitive controller with multiple modes that allows you to use it as a jog wheel for scratching, a trigger pad for cue points, EQ faders, effects control and of course your transport controls such as play, cue, sync and tap!
It all is thanks to Stanton’s new StanTouch technology that allows you to use our traditional motions as DJs to control the world’s most popular DJ software such as Traktor Pro. The included DaRouter software that works on both PC and Mac will load preset button configuration to the 3d unit. This lets you use it with a massive array of software packages and having different mapping depending on what you are using it for.
The SCS.3d is small, sleek and once its USB lead grasps lovingly into its computer of choice, it glows, flashes and sets itself up ready to replace your keyboard and mouse.
Control over software is precise and getting around the various pages and modes is easier than picking up a drink card.
